Even so, Medicine was an important moment for some bisexual music lovers, unaccustomed to seeing their own experiences mirrored in arena-filling pop songs. “I don’t feel like it’s something I’ve ever felt like I have to explain about myself,” he told the Sun last year. When asked about his sexuality in interviews, he has been consistently ambiguous. Styles hasn’t explained the Medicine lyrics, and has never openly identified as queer.
